Why Physical Fitness Is VITAL for Ascension

(taken from the FB page of Kundalini Awakening & DNA Activation)

On the spiritual path, one of the most common mistakes people make is neglecting their physical body. It is easy to see how this could happen as many spiritual philosophies over-emphasize that aspect of our identity which is transcendent of the physical.

It is true that our core identity is Eternal Spirit/Consciousness. As such, we are all inherently perfect, whole and complete. However, we are also our physical bodies. And it is vital that we take care of our bodies. If your physical body cannot hold the frequencies of your Higher Self then you cannot fully activate your DNA and ascend.

If you are overweight like I was then you are limited in how much higher frequency energy you can bring into your lower chakras. The same blockages causing you to be overweight, will block you from fully grounding the ascension frequencies into your physical body. It is crucial we clear these ASAP.

If you desire to ascend, I would strongly recommend making your physical fitness a strong priority in your life. Does this mean everyone who is in shape will automatically ascend? Absolutely not. Most physically fit people are disconnected from the upper chakras, and have a ton of energy blockages as well. They just don't happen to have the specific imprints related to being overweight or the imprints are dormant.

Ascension aside, imagine how much better your life would be if you had more energy, vitality, and confidence that come from a lean, fit body. Making your health and fitness a priority does NOT require that you buy into the lie that your self-worth is based on your appearance. The media sells the masses this lie every day, especially to women. The truth is you have intrinsic value. Like all human beings, your a unique expression of the divine One. Your true nature is transcendent love, peace, beauty, joy and happiness. With that understanding, think about how AWESOME it would be to EMBODY your true nature.

A healthy, strong, fit body is necessary for complete embodiment of our Higher Selves. Such a body, allows you to radiate your inner value into the physical realm. Not only is this incredibly attractive, but will raise the vibration of those around you. Ascension is happening NOW. This is the year. Incredibly high frequencies are streaming into the planet, and we now have the opportunity to bring them into our bodies. Ascension is not about choosing our Eternal Self over our Mortal Self, it is about MERGING the two.

This Tuesday, April 24 at 9pm EST, I will be doing a webinar on weight loss. We will clear all the energy blockages that cause people to be overweight. I dropped 33 lbs in 3.5 months when I cleared these on myself.

If you didn't see the before/after pic in the last email, here it is again: http://stairwaytonow.com/before-after-pic.png

You'll also learn how to reprogram your brain's neuro-associations so that you associate eating healthy and exercising with pleasure rather than pain. This is a webinar you do not want to miss.

To register, go here: http://www.stairwaytonow.com/onlinestore.php Click the Online Store tab and select Services -> Downloads/Webinars -> The Truth About Weight Loss. I will email all registrants the webinar access link in the afternoon of April 24. The webinar will be recorded so if you purchase it but cannot attend live on Tuesday, you can still watch the recording later and get the same effect.

There's MAGIC in the Unknown...

Sometimes we're out of ideas. We think and think but nothing comes. We don't know what's next. It feels like we're at a dead end. But we're not. That void, that dreaded blank spot is a really glorious magical place.

Sometimes we have to run out of our ideas before we can open up to any new ones. The reason why we can't see any further is because our ideas are limited by the past, by past experiences, by what life has been like before. Our future doesn't have to be limited by our past. Life knows that. Now we can learn it too. We're not at a dead end. We've reached a new beginning.

Now it is a time of magic. Let the universe take your hand and show you things you have never seen before. Now, at last, you're open and vulnerable enough to begin. Celebrate the magic the mystery of the unknown. Celebrate the miracles that will certainly come.

Trusting Others...

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Closed your eyes and trusted, just trusted?
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face
and said, "I just don't care"? ~Pink (from Glitter in the Air)

It's hard for me to trust others. Not only can I not get away from my skeptical New York side, but being of sensitive nature, trusting someone is a risk that is uncomfortable for my big, open heart. The fewer people I let in, the less I risk that terrible raw feeling that I get when someone is callous with my heart. Man, I hate that feeling.

I know that's not the way to be and I have to work on that. The love you can receive when your heart is open can far outweigh the pain of it being hurt. I know that from experience. But... I know both from experience. That's the tricky part.

When I do let somebody in, at first, it's only a delicate thread that connects my heart to theirs. I hate to admit it, but my scissors are in the holster, sharpened, ready to spring, to cut me loose at a moments notice. It's terrible, I know, I know. I find it easy to head for the hills and I don't want to be like that.

Trust is something that is built for me and it takes awhile. That's not always appreciated, I'm sure, but I am a work in progress. It's hard to not learn from past experiences. To blindly trust. It's hard to throw a fistful of glitter in the air.

Every once in a awhile though, I risk it. I go for it. I open my heart and do my best to not brace myself or expect the worst. Sometimes that works for me. Sometimes it doesn't.

Trusting someone is only equal to the reward of their heart to me. If I see a really good person, with a really good heart and I want to be in that heart, I'll give them the gift of my trust. Nobody's perfect, I understand and don't expect that. Everyone tells some white lies, everyone tries to avoid conflict and cover their own tracks from time to time in order to get or keep what they want. We're only human, after all. But if someone makes a habit of it, my scissors are out faster than a politicians promise on election day. My trust is my heart. I can't accept anyone behaving recklessly with it.

Sometimes learning to be trustworthy is a process. I've been on that side of the fence too. I've screwed up. I've been dishonest. I've hurt others by doing so. Old habits sometimes die hard. It's takes constant self-reflection and dedication to yourself to be the self you want to be. We are all a work in progress. And I allow for a screw-up or two! I really do! I swear! I'm not "that" rigid.

A word of advice, if you will... if you do screw up. Own it. Don't perpetuate it. Don't spin in. Own it. Spinning it only perpetuates the dishonesty. End it with a moment of trust. That's when your heart is truly open and good things start to happen.

I trust you.

Happy Thoughts...

My natural state is happy.

The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.

The secret of happiness is not to expect.

In order to live freely and happily you must sacrifice boredom.

Live joyfully and peacefully, knowing that right thoughts
and right efforts inevitably bring about right results.

The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

Be Present for Yourself...

Sometimes you read something and it just "clicks" for you. When I read this reflection this morning, I nearly fell out of my chair. This makes a lot of sense in my life right now and I hope it does for you too...

Learn to be present for yourself, fully present in a way that's new and delightful. Be present for your thoughts and emotions. Be present for the gentle way in which your heart and body lead you on. Learn to be fully present for each step of your growth, each step of your journey.

Value yourself, who you are, what you think and feel, and how you grow. For many years you neglected yourself. It was as though you were unconscious of who you were, how you felt, what you believed. You believed that kept you safe, protected you from feelings you didn't want to feel. You believed it was how you should live.

Now you are learning another way. Survival is no longer enough. It does not meet the needs of your heart and soul. Now you want to live fully and joyfully. To do that, you must be present for yourself.

Be fully present for others, too. Be present for their spirits, their emotions, the words they have to say to you, but especially be present for their hearts. You no longer have to fear losing or neglecting yourself if you are present for others. You can do this safely now. You will not be consumed by their needs; you will not become trapped in the workings of their lives. And if you're present for yourself, you'll know how much presence to give to others.

Be present for life- for the starlit skies and the chirping birds that sing to the morning sun. Be present for the earth and grass under your feet, for the feel of a snowflake in your hand. Be present for all the magic and mysteries of the universe.

But most of all be present for yourself. Then your presence for others and life will naturally follow.

Stronger Arms Through Yoga...

How to Get Strong Arms in a Yoga Class

7 Ways to Get Stronger Arms in Yoga Class

Updated 04/04/12 3:43 AM · Posted
Practicing yoga is one of the best ways to relieve stress, but since you're holding yourself in challenging positions, it's also a killer workout for your upper body. Superstrong, sculpted arms not only look good in a strapless dress, but also enable you to do more advanced yoga poses. Here are some ways you can build a stronger upper body with yoga.

  1. Practice, practice, practice: Taking a class once a week is better than nothing, but you'll really notice a difference in your upper body when you take three or more classes per week. Choose 90-minute classes, rather than 45- or 60-minute sessions.
  2. Skip Child's Pose: While resting is important during a yoga class, if an instructor suggests coming into a relaxing child's pose and you don't feel you need it, stay in Downward Facing Dog to work your shoulders and upper back.
  3. Link poses with vinyasas: If you've taken an Ashtanga or Vinyasa class, you're familiar with doing vinyasas, a series of poses (like a mini sun salutation) that involves jumping back from a seated position and coming into Four-Limbed Staff, inhaling your chest forward into Upward Facing Dog and exhaling as you lift your hips coming into Downward Dog. Here's a video demonstrating how to do a vinyasa. Doing vinyasas between poses not only strengthens your upper body, but also makes your yoga practice more like a fluid dance, increasing the meditative feel.
  4. Hold arm-strengthening poses longer: Five breaths are the standard when it comes to holding most yoga poses, but if your instructor has you do an arm-toning pose such as Beginner's Sage, Three-Legged Dog, or Full Wheel, stay in it for a few extra breaths to really feel the burn.
Keep reading for more arm-strengthening yoga class tips.
  1. Lift those arms: For poses that involve working the legs, make sure you don't forget about your arms. Lift them whenever possible and take advantage of opportunities to hold your arms in more challenging variations, such as extending your arms straight in front of you in Warrior 3 instead of out wide in T-position.
  2. Do some variations while in down dog: Downward Facing Dog is a killer move for your upper body, but if you're up for it, try a more challenging variation. Come into Quarter Dog or shift your weight forward so your shoulders are over your wrists in a push-up position. Be respectful of the teacher and your fellow students — if you think going into your own pose will be distracting, incorporate variations into your home practice instead.
  3. Try advanced poses: Instructors often lead students through a series of poses that build up to a more advanced move. Don't be afraid to try it, since it often works your upper body. Inversions like Headstand, Forearm Stand, and Handstand are great upper body poses, as well as arm balancing poses like Crow.
